Rift Hub

The Rift Hub is the central nexus which gives you access to all the worlds of Astara.

The Rift Hub is the hub world of Vexx and acts as a level select for the game. It allows the player to travel to all nine worlds of the game, as well as the Shadow Realm, where the player can fight Dark Yabu after collecting 61 Wraithhearts. The Rift Hub features nine World Gates, which are portals leading to each of the game's nine worlds: Timberdale, Dragonreach, The Neverglades, Tempest Peak Manor, The Below, Daggercrag, Summit of the Sages, Frostblight Mill, and Citadel of Shadows. Whenever Vexx collects a Wraithheart, he automatically transports there. The player can warp to the Rift Hub through the pause menu by selecting "Warp To Hub," as long as Vexx is stationary.

History[]

Creation[]

The Rift Hub was created by Astara's greatest scientists. It was designed to let the Astani people visit other worlds. However, upon first use, it had accidentally opened a portal to the Shadow Realm, allowing Dark Yabu and an army of Shadowraiths to slaughter Astara. Treyvn, Astara's Guardian at the time, locked his daughter, Reia, inside the Landspire to protect her.

Meeting Reia[]

After Vexx collected 26 Wraithhearts, he and Darby meet Reia inside the Landspire. However, Darby is revealed to be Yabu in disguise and steals the Keystaff from Reia. After this, Reia tells Vexx to collect more Wraithhearts to close the Rift and to defeat Yabu for good.

Sealing the Rift[]

After Vexx defeats Dark Yabu, he obtains the Keystaff and attempts to return home. However, he is only able to throw the Keystaff into the Rift, sacrificing his chance to return. Reia takes the Keystaff and the Rift is then sealed for good.

The Landspire[]

Their wisdom reached its apex and its end with the monumental construction of the Landspire. More than just a marvel of architecture, the Landspire was a vast machine designed to draw power from Astara itself and open a doorway... allowing the Astani to travel through the dimensions.

The Landspire is where the Rift Hub is located. It was originally intended to be a playable area, sitting on a central mountain with all the other worlds located around it, but in the final version of the game, other than housing the Rift Hub, it only exists as a cameo seen floating in the backgrounds of many levels.
